Power Supply Replacement
A desktop that's suddenly dead, restarts under load, or gave off a whiff of burning is usually a failing power supply. At our Marlboro shop we test it, replace it with a properly rated unit, and check that the failure didn't take anything else with it.

Why a failing PSU is worth acting on
A power supply on its way out can send unstable voltage to the motherboard, drives and graphics card. Catching it early usually means a straightforward swap. Ignoring it risks turning a $245 job into a new motherboard and drive.
What we do
We bench-test the supply, replace it with a unit correctly rated for your components, and then check the parts it feeds — motherboard, storage, RAM — to confirm the old supply didn’t damage them. You get it back tested under load.

What are the signs of a failing power supply?
No power at all, the machine powering on for a second then dying, random restarts especially during games or heavy work, a buzzing or clicking from the back of the case, or a burning-electronics smell. Any of those, stop using it and bring it in.
Could it be something other than the power supply?
Yes — a dead machine can also be the motherboard, a wall outlet or surge strip, or a front-panel power button. We test the supply directly so you don't pay for a PSU when the real fault is elsewhere.
Do laptops have a power supply you can replace?
