How we clean it
We scan from outside the infected operating system so malware can’t hide, remove every malicious file and startup entry, then patch Windows or macOS, update your browsers and check that nothing is phoning home. Before you leave we show you what was found.
Staying clean
We’ll set up the built-in protection properly, remove risky software, and walk you through the two or three habits that stop reinfection. If the damage is extensive, a clean operating system reinstall is often faster and cheaper than a deep clean.

What these scams actually look like
Most of what we clean up doesn’t sneak in through some sophisticated hack — it walks in the front door because it’s dressed like a real message. These are recent examples pulled straight from customer inboxes, not stock photos:
- Fake renewal invoices — an email that looks like a receipt from Geek Squad, Norton, PayPal or a “Cloud Services” brand, for a subscription you never bought, with a phone number to call about the “charge.” Calling that number is the scam — it connects you to someone who wants remote access to your computer or your card details.
- “Your account has been blocked” — a panic email claiming your files will be deleted or your account suspended unless you click through and “update your payment method” within 24–48 hours. The urgency is the tell.
- Pop-up stacks that won’t stop — a shady site tricks your browser into allowing notifications, then floods your screen with fake system alerts (“Unauthorized download detected — is it you?”) that lead to more scam sites if you click either button.

I got a scary pop-up or email saying I have a virus — is it real?
Usually not. A real virus doesn't pop up a phone number and ask you to call — that's the scam itself, designed to get you to pay or give someone remote access. Don't call the number and don't click anything in the message. If you're not sure, forward the email or take a photo of the pop-up and send it to us, or bring the device in — we'll tell you straight whether it's a real infection or a scam trying to look like one.
